- How does coaching work? We begin working together by having a chat about what it is you think would be of most benefit to you. Areas of your life you might consider exploring are: parenting, personal relationships, career, friendships, creativity, wellbeing, health and fitness, but we are not limited to these. It really depends on you, however coaching is most effective if you can commit to an area in which you wish to have a breakthrough. It is most likely that all areas will receive some attention throughout a coaching relationship with me, but it’s great to have a starting point that you are interested in.
- How many sessions will I need? Many people report results straight away, but it generally takes a couple of sessions to see significant results that last and become a part of your daily life and practice. I also offer packages of 3 , 6 , 9 & 12 sessions. The more you have the cheaper they become. After 12 we lock in a maintenance price.
- How would you describe your coaching style? I value having authentic conversations. I am a gentle straight talker. That also means that you can count on me to be truthful and respectful with you. It means that during our coaching sessions, I will focus all my attention on you getting the outcomes that you desire. I will ask powerful questions that get you thinking, perhaps from another perspective, and assist you to create plans and actions you have real ownership of.
- What can I expect out of working with a coach? You can expect your coach to have your best interests at heart, whilst challenging you to discover what stands in the way of you having the results that you want for yourself and you life. You can also expect your coach to ask lots of powerful questions and to actively listen to your answers, enabling you to get to the heart of your desires and goals.
- How will I know if you are the right coach for me? Booking a 1/2hr complimentary introduction session is the best way to find out if I am the right coach for you. You can ask me a heap of questions, and if at the end of the session you think I’m not the one for you, that’s the end of it. No hard feelings! I believe it is very important that you feel a ‘connection’ with your coach in order for you to get the most out of working together. I am committed to making a difference to the lives of people I coach, and if I can’t do that for you, I will do my best to refer you to someone who can.
- How soon can I see you? I know when there is an itch to scratch and you have made a decision get moving forward, waiting can seem like an eternity. I will do my best to fit you in as soon as possible. If you can get in contact via the contact page I will contact you shortly to arrange a complimentary Introduction Session at the earliest convenience.
- I am not sure if I need professional, business, career or personal coaching, how can I find out? It doesn’t really matter which area of your life you wish to focus on, because as in life, nothing happens in isolation and things are bound to show up in more than one area. The best way to find out where to start is to book a 1/2 hr complimentary session.
- I really don’t know what it is I’m after, I just know something needs to change. Can you help with that? People often feel uncertain about where they are at/going in life. Coaching is the perfect place to begin looking into what needs to change. It’s a chance to listen to ourselves and be be true to our feelings in a supported environment with someone who has your best interests at heart at all times.
- Is this the same as psychoanalysis or therapy? Coaching differs dramatically and is not a replacement for therapy of any kind. Coaching is a process that moves the client from the present reality towards a desired future with accountability and actions determined by the client. It is a process of creating desired outcomes and goal setting realistic actions that can be taken to achieve them.
- What are your ethical standards and Professional Standards? We operate inline with the Ethical Guildlines and Standards of Conduct determined by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) You can find out more about these core competencies here.
